ISRAEL: Machol Shalem Dance House (MASH) cordially invites you to apply the fourth Jerusalem International Choreography Competition, to take place December 2-3, 2016. MASH is seeking original works which challenge the borders of choreography as the moving-body oriented performing discipline. The Jerusalem International Choreography Competition is held during Jerusalem Dance Week, which is attended by large audiences, dance professionals and festival organizers from around the world. Young choreographers can submit work up to 15 minutes. Deadline is July 20, 2016. Top price is $4,000. GERMANY: NRW region in northern Germany has announced the open call for Pina Baush Fellowship for Dance and Choreography. The scholarship holders are getting the chance to gain new experiences and are encouraged to develop their own artistic characteristics with new forms of expression. The Pina Bausch Fellowship is not a project fund, nor is it aimed at the development of new pieces. Possible projects could be collaboration in form of an externship with a choreographer or a stay at a renowned training institution as a visiting student. Each applicant has to contact their cooperating partner themselves and have the planned project confirmed in a “letter of intent”. Deadline is September 15, 2016. GERMANY: As part of its residency programme, K3 provides three eight-month residencies per season to choreographers, who are currently at the beginning of their career, but have already produced some choreographic work of their own. The residency begins around the beginning or middle of August and runs until end of March / beginning of April of the following year. Deadline: August 14th 2016. NEDERLANDS: For the dance film choreographers, there is entry-call for the Cinedans – Dance on Screen Festival 2017 is open! You can submit your film three categories: short film competition which has €20 entry fee, student competition with no entry fee, and outside of competition no entry fee. POLAND: Warsaw Zawirowania Dance would like to announce Open Call for 2nd Edition Of Warsaw Zawirowania Dance International Choreographic Competition aiming at showing artists from a variety of countries in Warsaw – both young, emerging talents and professionally experienced choreographers and dancers. We take into account the full variety of styles, movements and phenomena which characterize contemporary dance. Annotation: There is no fee even thou at the webpage you may find this information. MASSACHUSETTS: The 2016 Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival opens June 18, with a gala performance and continues with more than 200 free and ticketed dance performances through August 18. Among the companies performing at the Pillow this summer are the world-premiere engagement And Still You Must Swing created by tap dance powerhouses Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Derick K. Grant, and Jason Samuels Smith; former New York City Ballet principal dancer Wendy Whelan and choreographer Brian Brooks in an evening of new duets and solos, titled Some of a Thousand Words; rare U.S. appearances by France-based Compagnie Hervé KOUBI and South Korea-based contemporary ensemble Bereishit Dance Company; the powerful all-male company Che Malambo of Argentina; and the return of Seattle’s Pacific Northwest Ballet.
